Excess weight is intrinsically linked to poor health. Learning about eating healthy for weight loss will bring improved health in other areas too. It is impossible not to improve your energy, shed health problems and look younger when you start on a protocol of eating healthy foods and not eating unhealthy foods.

Excess weight is now common in the western world. It is considered that in the last 50 years or so, people are on average are 18 kilo/40 pounds heavier. That’s an enormous increase. And an enormous strain on the internal organs. Of course your health suffers as a result.

Once your health starts to suffer, your energy drops. What is reserved for your activity is now needed to keep you going, somehow.

Your body is amazingly resilient. Whatever you do to it, whatever you feed it, it somehow tries to adapt. Somehow, it tries to make the best of a bad job. It will do anything it can to stay alive. And anything it can to tell you what it needs.

But most people are insensitive to the needs of their body. They are deaf to the subtle signs, preferring instead to entertain the medical approach – that the body is faulty. The body is not faulty.

Imagine for a moment, you are in a dangerous situation. Let’s say you are skiing in a remote part of the world. An avalanche totally changes the landscape. Luckily, you weren’t caught in it, but now your way home is blocked.

After assessing the situation, your come to the conclusion that the best thing you can do is to wait for help to arrive. You do your best to make a sheltered spot out of the wind. But it’s cold and night time is approaching. You know you will be there for the night at the very least. And the temperature will fall to well below freezing.

You start to shiver. This is the first line of defense of the body to preserve the heat of the body. The next signs are your extremities go numb. Your body starts to shut off parts of the body that are not essential to survival, in an effort to stay alive.

Lastly, you may lose consciousness as your heart rate and organs slow down.

None of these symptoms are health problems in themselves. They are simply the best ways your body brings into action to stay alive. It can’t afford to heat your extremities AND your internal organs, when you are losing so much heat.

It is no different to your health when your eating habits are poor. You are not providing your body with the right nutrients to remain healthy. So it ditches those processes that are the least important to survival. This results in poor health conditions, which are given medical labels.

The reality is, these conditions disappear, effortlessly and quietly, when you start eating healthy food. So even if you were brought to eating healthy for weight loss reasons, you can expect to enjoy other improvements – to your health, your energy, your libido, your looks and more.
