There are so many unhealthy foods around now, most of which pile on the pounds. Healthy eating for weight loss can mean an almost effortless return to health and a great body, simply by sifting these out.
Here are some really easy suggestions to help you slim down at the same time as boosting your health.
Tip #1. Stop drinking soft drinks. Just two soft drinks a day can load your weight up as much as 15 kilograms in the course of a year. Drink water (better with a dash of real lemon or lime juice) herbal tea, green black or white tea or limited coffee instead. Leave out the sugar or sweetener.
Tip #2. Only eat as much as you really want. Many of us are programmed to eat everything put in front of us. This is unhealthy. If you load your plate up, you may eat it all, even well after you are satisfied. So take small portions and go back for more if required.
Tip #3. Many people mistake thirst for hunger. Try having a drink first. If this doesn’t satisfy your hunger, then it will fill you up a little, satisfying your hunger with less food. Always carry a water bottle (glass or stainless steel) with you.
Tip #4. Alcohol can help stack on the pounds. If you eat out regularly, volunteer to be the driver, so you can’t drink. You will become very popular!
Tip #6. Avoid eating out at lunch time. Take your own (healthy) lunch and eat it in a park or somewhere in natural surroundings. Not only will you improve your health and weight, you will save money too. Getting out into nature has a calming effect and the sun will top up your vitamin D levels. Even in the rain, sitting under shelter can be magical.
Tip #7. If you find yourself drawn to snacking between meals, accept it and provide yourself with enough to last you through the day. The key here is to take only healthy food with you – a couple of apples or bananas are ideal as they are not messy to eat. Don’t go buying snacks.
Tip #8. Get more daily exercise. Cycle to work, walk from the train station, walk your dog, go dancing, learn yoga. Do whatever you like, then you will not only do it regularly, you’ll look forward to it. Exercise burns calories.
Tip # 9. Unhealthy snacks are easy to eat. Don’t buy them in your weekly grocery shop. If you don’t have them, you won’t be tempted. Make sure you have loads of healthy food in your larder.
Tip # 10. Make twice as much of the evening meal than you need, as long as it’s healthy. You can use the extra for next day’s lunch or as snacks.
Make sure your focus is on healthy eating for weight loss. You want your hard earned change to be permanent. You want to ensure you are not just slim, but healthy, too.
