Many people take supplements that harm them. They, and their doctors, can be blissfully unaware of the problems that are associated with most of them. Vitamin D
This is a highly concentrated mimic of Mother Nature. You can easily overdose on it and the effects are cumulative. Some of the side effects are heart related problems, fatigue, organ malfunction, hypertension and abnormal growth. It promotes weight gain and disrupts your hormonal level.

Folic Acid
Folic acid is the synthetic imitation of folate, which is found in healthy food. Folate is an important nutrient essential to good health. Folic acid is risky. Some studies show it increases the risk of colon cancer. Others link it to the increase in lung and prostate cancers.

Calcium supplements are not well absorbed by the body. However, they can make the blood high in calcium, without increasing the calcium in bones and teeth. In fact many prescription calcium supplements have the opposite effect, they cause bone fracture from calcium loss. It is easy to overdose on this synthetic supplement.

Vitamin E
Natural, or food based, vitamin E is known to have antioxidant properties. The synthetic version has the opposite effect – it has pro-oxidant properties.
