Statistically over 60% or westerners are over weight, some by just a little, some by a lot. Let’s look at some of the reasons why this is so. And then examine why healthy eating for weight loss can work.

Food is used as a convenient comforter for crying children. This is a serious problem that most parents unwittingly engage in. It’s easier than determining what the cause of the upset is. However, it puts into action a process that never leaves the child as they grow into adulthood. All their lives, food is used as a comforter when things in life become too difficult. Invariably, these foods are unhealthy and readily available.

Many people work full time now. This puts an enormous strain on raising a family. How do you balance work, healthy eating, raising children and getting the chores done? With the tempting frozen ready meals and the ever increasing number of fast food outlets opening, sadly it is often the diet that suffers.

Many things that children are taught at school are important to understand for later life. But many things are absolutely useless. These should be replaced with important knowledge that used to come from healthy parents. And that is understanding what healthy food is and why. And understanding what unhealthy food is, and why.

There are an ever growing number of weight loss programmes available, tempting you to loss weight – from counting calories to having a surgical stomach band fitted. Yet these measures and most of the others don’t address the real cause of the problem.

Today, everyone wants a quick fix. Everyone wants someone else to fix the problem. This does not and cannot work. The only one who is responsible for you is you. Only you are responsible for discovering the knowledge necessary for a healthy life and a sexy body. Only you are responsible for what you put in your mouth.

Take your health as seriously as you take your weight. Your health is your greatest asset. Without it, you can achieve little. With it, the sky is the limit. Healthy eating for weight loss combines your desire to lose weight with your body’s nutritional requirements. This keeps your appetite at a much more normal level, ensures you don’t crave junk food and keeps you well away from the doctor’s clinic.
